Edge networking solutions provider Telco Systems is expanding its smart virtualisation platform, Edgility, with a new virtual firewall and router.

The package of updates, called Edgility Integrated Network Functions (INF), offers features designed with cost reductions for mass deployment of edge devices in mind.

Arrcus bags $50m for its software approach to cloud networking

Arrcus, a San Jose-based cloud tech provider, has raised $50 million (£41m) in a Series D equity round led by Prosperity7 Ventures.

The company provides a cloud-based networking platform to data centre and telecoms companies looking to take advantage of multi-cloud networking and 5G edge compute.

Existing investors such as Clear Ventures, General Catalyst, Liberty Global and others also participated in the round.

End-to-end network software provider Mavenir launches MEC solution

Mavenir, an end-to-end network software and systems integration provider for 4G and 5G, has launched a MEC (Multi-Access Edge Computing) solution.

MEC enables carriers to securely open their Radio Access Network (RAN) edge to authorised third-parties while providing the flexibility required for application and service innovation.

Applications running at the edge can use MEC to access content and real-time information under local-access network conditions.
