The Azure Stack Edge Pro 2 server is now commercially available on Microsoft’s Azure Edge Hardware Centre.

Described as an “AI-enabled edge computing device offered as a service”, the Pro 2 brings compute and processing power to edge locations such as retail and remote office branches.

Verizon and Microsoft partner up to accelerate 5G edge computing

Verizon has inked a partnership with Microsoft to help accelerate the deployment of 5G edge applications.

The carrier will integrate Azure edge services into its onsite 5G Edge network to enable ultra-low latency. Verizon and Microsoft’s collaboration aims to open up new possibilities in areas like augmented/virtual reality, computer vision, and digital twins.
