Avassa has been featured as a sample vendor in Gartner’s “Hype Cycle” report for edge computing.

In the report, Avassa is featured as a sample vendor in two critical categories: Edge Management and Orchestration, and Edge PaaS (Platform-as-a-Service).

Edge Management and Orchestration involves edge infrastructure software and application management solutions for handling remote, distributed edge locations and deployments. Edge PaaS, meanwhile, represents a cloud-oriented application platform designed specifically for network edge environments with limited capacity.

Avassa’s management and operations platform is designed to simplify the complexity of distributed on-site edge management. The company’s inclusion as a sample vendor in these categories demonstrates Avassa’s progress in bridging the gap between the application-centric approach seen in centralised clouds and the challenges posed by remote, distributed, and resource-constrained on-site edges.

Fredrik Lundberg, CEO of Avassa, said:

“We are thrilled to receive recognition from Gartner, a leading research and advisory company, in their Hype Cycle report for edge computing. This acknowledgement underscores the effectiveness and groundbreaking nature of our edge application management and operations solution.

As the field of edge computing continues to expand, research such as the Hype Cycle report is pivotal in enhancing our understanding of this ecosystem and the potential it holds.”

Avassa’s Edge Platform empowers businesses to orchestrate, manage, and monitor applications running at the edge—allowing companies to harness the flexibility and innovation of cloud technology and apply it to edge environments. This approach enables businesses to enhance customer experiences in distributed environments such as retail stores, restaurants, factories, vehicles, vessels, and hospitals.

In 2022, Avassa was recognised as a Gartner Cool Vendor in Edge Computing. This continued recognition from Gartner underlines Avassa’s expertise in cultivating a robust edge computing ecosystem, propelling businesses towards a future driven by data.
