Avassa, an edge orchestration solution provider, has partnered with Red Hat, the open-source software giant, to collaborate on edge container management.
The companies hope to deliver innovative edge container monitoring and automation tooling to users, leveraging Red Hat’s platform and open-source community.
As a Red Hat technology partner, Avassa will provide purpose-built solutions for container management to add to Red Hat’s edge portfolio.
Avassa says that it will benefit from Red Hat’s network of industry experts and ecosystem of users.
Fredrik Lundberg, CEO of Avassa, said: “This collaboration will enable us to work closely with Red Hat and their users to extend current cloud tooling and processes at the edge. Red Hat has a unique set of solution offerings, and we can’t wait to embark on new projects and opportunities together with them.”
Avassa’s Edge Enforcer solution, which is certified on Red Hat Enterprise Linux, provides users with a tool to extend existing container management solutions to on-site edge locations on the Linux platform.
Both companies hope to find increased success in retail, hospitality, and industrial verticals through the partnership and build their user base within the EMEA region.

The partnership comes after Red Hat CEO Matt Hicks announced earlier this week plans to layoff four percent of the company’s workforce – just under 800 people.
