Cloud computing firm Zadara has partnered with Japanese internet service provider BroadBand Tower to offer a full-stack cloud platform in Japan.
The infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) solution will offer storage, compute, and networking services to new customers in the region.
The joint offering will see Zadara’s Edge Cloud Services integrated into BroadBand Tower’s upcoming launch of its c9 Flex-N IaaS platform.
Nelson Nahum, CEO of Zadara, said: “We are excited to work with BroadBand Tower to power the c9 Flex-N platform and to help us move to our next phase of growth.”
BroadBand Tower provides internet services and cloud solutions across Japan. It powers portal sites, e-commerce sites, video distribution sites and social media organisations that generate vast swathes of data.
The company says its c9 Flex-N service will be Japan’s first to provide customers with flexible, open cloud environments across service layers like IaaS, hardware-as-a-service (HaaS), and software-as-a-service (SaaS).
Hiroshi Fujiwara, president and CEO of BroadBand Tower, said: “BroadBand Tower’s goal is to enable our customers to store, manage and retrieve their data quickly and efficiently and allow them to focus on innovating and growing their businesses.”
Combining c9 Flex-N with Zadara’s Edge Cloud, customers will have access to a hybrid, multi-cloud environment designed to allow free movement of workloads without vendor lock-in.
Nahum added: “BroadBand Tower is one of the largest players in a market where we have been making valuable inroads. Zadara’s Edge Cloud Services make sense as the underpinning for the new c9 Flex-N IaaS platform and for growing our presence in the crucial Japanese marketplace.”
Last November, California-based Zadara entered into a strategic partnership with Kinx, an internet infrastructure company, to develop edge cloud storage services for Korea.
