Zenlayer, an edge cloud service provider, and Digital Edge, an Asian digital infrastructure firm, are working together to deliver edge cloud services throughout East and Southeast Asia.
The partnership aims to give local cloud and service providers a one-stop digital hub for multiple edge solutions, helping them access global interconnectivity and reduce costs.
Tapping in to Digital Edge’s extended geographic coverage and energy-efficient data centres will support the growth of Zenlayer’s cloud and network infrastructure, the companies say.
Digital Edge says it feels well positioned to support this expansion, as it brings new data centres in Jakarta, Manila, and Osaka online in 2023.
The company also expects to benefit from a variety of new cloud and interconnection options such as bare metal cloud, cloud on-ramp, and multi-cloud access thanks to Zenlayer.
Samuel Lee, CEO at Digital Edge, said: “Cloud is the fastest growing and highly important customer segment to us, especially in emerging markets. By partnering with Zenlayer, a leader in this space, we will combine our best services of cloud, networking, interconnection, and data centre into one comprehensive offering for our customers.”
Zenlayer’s edge infrastructure currently maintains 290 points-of-presence across 50 countries. Through the partnership, it plans to build new edge nodes with Digital Edge’s data centres.
Joe Zhu, founder and CEO at Zenlayer, said: “Partners are a critical part in Zenlayer’s success. We are pleased to bring our services to Digital Edge’s data centre facilities and collectively offer a one-stop experience to customers in the region. Our shared vision is to bring world-class digital infrastructure to emerging markets and we will work together to make this a reality.”
In September last year, Zenlayer partnered with cryptocurrency mining company Hut 8 to bring its edge services to blockchain and web3 users.
