Retail software company Extenda Retail has chosen Avassa’s edge orchestration platform to enhance its applications and hybrid solutions.
Through the collaboration, Extenda Retail has said its clients will be able to improve efficiency and optimise their customers’ experience.
The company added that using Avassa’s platform will mean essential retail operations can go uninterrupted and customers won’t have to deal with any downtime.
Shayne Clausson, CTO of Extenda Retail, said: “With the Avassa platform, we are able to deploy and operate our applications at the edge with ease, using the same mechanisms we already have in place for centralised cloud delivery. This delights our engineers since the edge becomes a simple extension of the tooling and patterns they have grown to love in the cloud.”
Extenda Retail merges in-store and cloud software for a hybrid approach to retail that it believes is crucial for digital transformation. It says using key applications in-store with cloud backups offers better reliability, faster data processing, and less downtime.
The company offers a range of solutions, from its Unified Commerce Platform to a Customer Loyalty and Engagement service, to hundreds of retailers in more than 36 countries worldwide.
Olle Hillström, Avassa’s co-founder and head of sales, is optimistic about the partnership: “Today’s retailers simply can’t afford downtime of in-store applications, whether from a financial, brand reputation, or customer satisfaction perspective. We’re proud that the Avassa Edge Platform enables them to continue to broaden their hybrid offer.”
Through its application orchestration platform. Avassa lets users deploy and manage applications across upwards of thousands of locations to suit given needs. Extenda Retail is pushing forward with its hybrid approach to retail by managing in-store applications remotely with Avassa.
Hillström added: “Extenda Retail is truly ahead of their game with a hybrid delivery model for their market-leading point-of-sales.”
Avassa has formed a number of partnerships in the latter half of 2022, solidifying its position as a key security and solutions provider in the edge space. The company most recently worked with authorisation specialist Axiomatics on a zero-trust authorisation solution for edge environments.
