Cybersecurity platform Netskope has acquired Infiot, a cloud-based infrastructure company focused on the IoT industry.
The acquisition will give Netskope customers access to a complete secure access service edge (SASE) platform that integrates with security service edge (SSE) services.
As part of the deal, Netskope’s Borderless WAN group will now incorporate Parag Thakore and the Infiot product team. The Infiot sales team has also joined Netskope’s sales organisation. Further terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Frank Dickson, group vice president of security and trust at IDC, said: “This is a great move. What Netskope will now be able to offer, thanks to its compelling security platform and Infiot’s technology, is fully secure hybrid-work in-a-box, solving for both networking challenges and security challenges at the same time.
“It’s a self-provisioning network, with security that’s automatic. That’s not just an abstract framework or a good idea, it’s a specific set of benefits and use cases for businesses.”
The cloud-based technology from Infiot uses a zero-touch deployment and provisioning model with multiple virtual and physical appliance form factors.
The solution includes a transport-agnostic approach that works with wired and wireless connections, built-in routing, app-aware QoE enforcement, policy-based traffic steering, and other network security features necessary for edge deployment.
According to the company, this acquisition will allow Netskope to provide its customers with a complete, self-provisioning network that is secure and easy to use. With this new platform, customers can benefit from superior network access and increased security at a lower cost.
Additionally, Netskope integrates with SD-WAN partners to offer customers Netskope Intelligent SSE in mixed environments while maintaining flexibility in vendor partners.
“Netskope Borderless WAN is a new mindset,” said Robert Boopsingh, CIO of The Beacon Insurance Company. “For us, it will replace VPN for our employees and branch offices across our seven countries. We have implemented a zero trust model while delivering superior network access with this modern, secure, cloud-first implementation.”
